Boston, September 2010

We spent the first part of our trip on Cape Cod. We stayed in a cute little motel right on the beach. Marley was in heaven. The weather was perfect, the Cape was lovely.

What a cute family!

Marley meeting a new friend from a wedding party

Jeff's dad treated us to a ball game at Fenway Park. Our seats were one row back from the Orioles dugout! The Red Sox lost, but we had such a great time.

Jason Veritek, My dad's aunt's cousin's uncle's Godson (or something like that)

Enjoying the game

Meeting Wally, the green monster

The ballpark was a bit loud for Amelia's taste, but she tried to enjoy herself anyway

Best seats we'll ever have at a ballgame!

We got a nice feel for the city on the Duck Tour. Our guide was very entertaining and I learned all kinds of neat facts, like how many Italian restaurants are in Boston's North End (108).

Seeing the sights of Boston from The Duck

Marley got to "drive" once we got into the water. He had just woken up,
hence the really excited expression on his face.

We couldn't leave without experiencing a little history.

Studying a sewer drain in Harvard Yard.  Hmm, maybe some kind of engineer?

That's better, maybe he is ready for Harvard after all

My favorite part of the trip may have been our day trip to Gloucester.

Yummy hot dog place

Gloucester

The most photographed building in the state.  Or was it the universe?

Ahh, we love the beach

Back to the history. This time we checked out the city on foot.

I can't even look at these pictures without drooling a little. Yum!

What do we have here?

Holy Cannolies!

Thanks, Grandpa Boston, for showing us such a great time! Maybe next time you're in town you could bring us some more cannolies*.

*Dear Grammar Nazis, I know that cannoli is already pluralized, and that cannolies is not a word, but I really just like the sound of cannolies better. So leave me alone, okay?

I had a great time - Diane said I missed the best connolo - the Amaretto. Glad to see the weather turned out nice - On Sunday, the weather turned for the worse.

It looks like a lovely trip and reminds me of my years in Boston... but your pictures also made me miss Marley. :( Come visit us soon, please! The preschoolers are having a Bonnie music class at the Kenney Home, complete with costumes and hopefully a trip through the resident's haunted house. It's on the calendar for the morning of Oct 29th- you should come if you can!
Trying to work out Kung Fu details now- xoxox
