37 Weeks!

Woohoo! We officially have a full-term baby! Barring anything crazy happening, we will get to take Sister home from the hospital with us. I will be so grateful not to have to repeat the horrible experience of leaving the hospital without a baby!

I'm only wishing I would have built some days for nesting into my maternity leave, but oh well. Not to get greedy, but I'm kinda hoping she'll be a little late so I can have a couple days off before the birth. At the very least, maybe she'll be considerate enough to be born on a weekend. Weekdays are already too hectic around here! Not this weekend, though, I have plans for Mother's Day that don't involve being in the hospital!

Just wanted to say...

Yippee!! I had my very last progesterone injection today! Woo hoo - 18 straight weeks of painful shots are OVER!

I'na see me!

Before and After

I just realized that we've taken exactly TWO pictures during this pregnancy.  Poor Baby Sister - she's already neglected!  I guess that's what happens when you're the second child.  Here I am around Christmas time (18 weeks) and now (35 weeks).

Edit: Here are some pregnancy stats from my appointment today, for those of you who like that kind of thing.

My blood pressure: 110/67
Baby's heart rate: 128 bpm
My weight gain so far: 26 lbs
My fundal height: 33.5 cm
Number of progesterone injections left: 1
Time until next OB appointment: 2 weeks

34...and counting

Yahoo!  This Wednesday marked 34 weeks of pregnancy.  Baby Sister and I are doing well.  I'm really liking this new (to me!) stage of pregnancy.  It's exciting to have made it this far, if only I didn't have to work.  But, as Jeff keeps reminding me, it won't be much longer.  I have my next appointment on Tuesday, and I only have two progesterone shots left!  That's when I'm really going to celebrate!

Everyone's got a butt

Marley: Mommy.  You don't have a penis.

Me: Nope, because I'm a girl, and girls don't have penises.

Marley: I have a penis, and Daddy has a penis.

Me: That's right.  You and Daddy are boys.  Boys have penises.

 *Pause*

Marley: Mommy?  You have a butt?

Me: Yes, I have a butt.

Marley:  I have a butt, too.  And Daddy has a butt.

Me: Yep, everybody has a butt!

Marley: Everybody has a butt.

And that concludes today's lesson.  I hope you found it as informative as Marley did!

Fillings and a haircut, two bits

For being off for spring break this week, I sure have been keeping busy!  On Monday, I went into school all day and organized things so that a sub can walk in and take over at any time (not that this is an invitation for Baby Sister to arrive yet!).  I feel MUCH better now that my plans are laid out, copies are made, and things are relatively easy to find in my classroom.  Tuesday I had my 33 week OB appointment (33 WEEKS!).  Things are still looking good.  Baby Sister is healthy and active and my cervix is unchanged.  I go back in two weeks.  Yesterday I went to the dentist to have cavities filled (Ick!) and got a hair cut.

Today I kept Marley home from school for some Mommy/Son time.  We went with Tanya, Jada, and Miles to the Seattle Center Whirligig.  There was a separate toddler section that wasn't crowded at all.  The kids had a blast!

In between all that, I've been sorting and organizing baby stuff.  I boxed and labeled all the larger size clothing and washed and folded all the newborn stuff.  I started packing a hospital bag, something I really could have used last time (although Liz did a fabulous job of picking out clothing and toiletries for Jeff and I).

I would have been on sooner to post the news that my new niece, Lilyana Grace, had been born.  But, through the magic of the internet, most people seemed to already know.  For the two readers who aren't friends with my mom on Facebook: check out Matt and Alicia's blog for pictures and info about Baby Lily.
