Nine Years

I'm sure you've heard the story before, but here's the short version, just in case. He was coming from Florida, I was coming from Michigan. We were both traveling alone. Young, self-conscious, nervous, excited, clueless. We had just gotten off a TWA flight from St. Louis, and were waiting at the baggage claim. I noticed his UW hat, and hoped that I was correct in assuming that he was here for the same reason that I was: freshman orientation. Boldly, I approached him. And the rest is history.

That was nearly 17 years ago, when, by the looks of that photo, I was 18 and Jeff was 12:) We had a lot of adventures before we finally decided to tie the knot. But, I have to say, marrying your best friend of 8 years is a pretty wonderful feeling. And our adventures haven't slowed down (much) since then. Here's to the next crazy, amazing nine years of marriage!

PS: I was sure that Jeff and I had only been married eight years, until Alicia "counted" for me. Time flies when you're having fun, I guess.

PSS: Jeff is not actually 12 in the above photo. It was taken at Disney World, when we were both 19.
